Today, we would like to talk to you about an issue that has come into our lives recently and that we encounter frequently. Which is of great importance for us: “Sustainability”. What is this sustainability? Or what can we do individually for sustainability? Have you ever thought of these? Yes, there are actually many things we can do individually for a sustainable future.

Let’s take a look at what we can do together;

First of all, we would like to share with you what we are doing for a sustainable future.

As PIN, we know the importance of decreasing resources in nature, worsening environmental problems and efforts to adapt to climate change. In order to support sustainability, we work in many different areas, from resource efficiency to our waste rate, from creating value with environmentally and socially responsible products to equal opportunities we offer to our team, from production transparency to avoiding activities that may cause environmental damage.

So, what can you do easily at home? Have you ever thought about this?

In fact, you can make positive gains for the future with everything you do for a sustainable future.

How? Let’s examine it together:

REDUCE NYLON BAG USE!

You should prefer mesh or cloth bags instead of nylon bags to carry the Pin Energy Tea you buy; you can carry your own bag. Pin always supports and encourages its consumers in this regard; This is one of the reasons why we produce our own tote bags. Nylon bags are produced from petroleum-derived polyethylene. Its usage areas are very wide and its costs are very low.

For this reason, nylon bags are preferred very often and are thrown into nature together with garbage. It takes a thousand years for a plastic bag, which we use for only 10 minutes to carry the products we buy from the market to home, to completely dissolve in nature. Unfortunately, only 1% of plastic bags are recycled, and 99% are trapped in nature. Nylon, which emits harmful chemicals to the environment during the decomposition process, mixes with the soil and water, polluting the seas, lakes, rivers and soil. As Pin, we always invite everyone to protect our environment for a better future.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR ENERGY, SAVE ELECTRICITY!

Devices that are constantly plugged in and charging are wasting your energy. This is an unnecessary expenditure of 5% of the electricity consumption of the entire apartment. The way to prevent this situation is to unplug your electronic devices when you are not using them, or to follow your electricity consumption by taking them from 3-way sockets with buttons that warn you with their light.

However, for your lighting, which corresponds to 20% of your electricity bill, you still do not use light bulbs, known as Edison type, with very low efficiency. Instead of these bulbs, the bulbs known as compact fluorescent not only help to increase the energy efficiency by 5 times, but also reduce the cost of lighting on your electricity bill by about a quarter.

REDUCE YOUR WATER USE WITH SIMPLE WAYS!

With the simple decisions you make during the day, your water usage rate can be affected much more than your estimate. You can save on water use with simple but effective methods. Such as repairing dripping taps, turning off the water while brushing your teeth, and not prolonging your bathing pleasure.

DECORATE YOUR HOME WITH PLANTS!

Since it cannot be ventilated regularly and healthily during the day, the air inside the closed areas becomes almost 5 times more polluted than the outside air. Fortunately, NASA is aware of the same situation found in space capsules. According to NASA’s research, some plant species reduce airborne toxins by 87% within 24 hours. You can also decorate your home with plants. In this way, the air in your home will be cleaned, and you will have a good hobby thanks to the plants.

What Can You Do?

How can you be a part of a sustainable life in a few steps?

  • Say no to nylon bags, carry your own bag.
  • Separate the recyclables of your daily garbage from the others.
  • While enjoying the summer, be careful not to harm the sea creatures you see, and do not throw garbage into the sea!
